Swayambhu [swaj-ãmbu] « that which manifests by itself » or, « which appears spontaneously ».

In sanskrit, this term refers to a stone or rock whose shape naturally resembles the features of a certain deitiy, such as Ganesha, the elephant-headed God, or Shiva the Lord of Dance.

On a more subtle note, Swayambhu is the spontaneous and sudden experience of an altered sense of reality. A moment of absolute lucidity, where Reality reveals its true nature : an infinite field of Unity, Fluidity, Energy.

The dancer becomes an artisan-alchemist. She opens up her tool-kit: movement, gesture, rhythm, dynamic, facial expressions, music, words, use of space, light, aesthetic, intention, spirit, each element finely polished, sharpened, weighed, admired, and then handled with infinite care, gentleness, love.

She seeks the right combination of materials which will give rise to a pure expression.

A pure vision whose light has been calling, but whose form has never clearly shown itself, and which may now appear spontaneously, thanks to the magic of alchemy : for a fleeting moment,watch the veil of Illusion (Maya in sanskrit) fall, and reveal the Infinite…

Swayambhu [swaj-ãmbu] : qui se manifeste spontanément ou qui apparaît de lui-même.

Terme sanskrit utilisé pour désigner une pierre ou un rocher qui présente naturellement les traits des divinités, tel par exemple Ganesha, le Dieu à tête d’éléphant, ou Shiva, le seigneur de la danse.

Plus subtilement, Swayambhu désigne l’expérience spontanée et soudaine d’une certaine conscience de la réalité, un moment de lucidité absolue, où se révèle la nature essentielle du Réel : un champ infini d’Unité, Fluidité, Energie.

Le danseur devient un artisan-alchimiste. Il sort sa palette d’outils : mouvements, gestes, rythmique, dynamique, expressions du visage, musique, mélodie, parole, usage de l’espace, lumière, couleurs, esthétique, intention, état d’esprit…

Chaque élément finement aiguisé, admiré, pesé, puis manié avec soin, amour, délicatesse.

Il cherche l’alliage juste qui sera propice à la manifestation d’une expression pure, dont la perception sera rendue possible.

Une vision dont on devine la lumière, mais dont on n’a jamais saisi la forme avec clarté, et qu’on ne peut espérer entrevoir que grâce à cette alchimie magique, qui permet sa révélation spontanée : pour un instant, faire tomber le voile de l’Illusion, Maya en sanskrit, et effleurer l’Infini…
